Himalaya Moisturizing Aloe Vera Face wash Review

Hi All

Finally, it is summer here—at least in India it is boiling hot already, and the mercury level is rising every day. That means, it is time to switch from winter beauty products to summer specific beauty products. Keeping the same in my mind, I tried my hands-on Himalaya Moisturizing Aloe Vera Face wash. Though, I hardly own any Himalaya products, I thought why not give them a try, starting with a simple face wash. Looking at the description of the product “moisturizing face wash”, I quickly added it to my basket. I have been using it for almost a month now. So, a perfect time to review it.

First—as usual—let us start with “About Brand’ and then proceeding towards the actual brutally-honest-review, covering all the details from price to my experience with the product.

Let’s dive in…

Review/ My personal Experience with the product:

I have not tried many Himalaya product in past. This one is the second product I tried from Himalaya. The only reason why I picked this face wash was, it said it is moisturizing, has aloe vera in it and also, it is enriched with natural Vitamin E. However, I wasn’t expecting much from a product that retails only for 117 INR, but the description of the product convinced me to buy it.

Talking about the packaging, it is typical tube of face wash with flip open cap, just like most of the face washes come. There is nothing much interesting about the packaging. Talking about the scent of the face wash, it is super refreshing, cool, slightly minty kind of scent —you will like it. However, smells little artificial to me. There is nothing herbal about the scent. It is more like added artificial fragrance, a good one though.

The product is light minty greenish in color with a creamy texture—I like the color of this product, so summery. Once you wash your face with this face wash, you can feel that cooling menthol kind of feel on your face. I guess this is because of the Aloe Vera, Cucumber and Menthol in the ingredients. So, perfect for summer.

Now, talking about the how moisturizing it is –the reason why I bought this. Till the time your face is wet, or I would say you have not wiped it yet with a face towel, sure you will not feel stretched face like the soaps do to your skin. But, once you wipe off all the water, you will feel little dryness and stretched skin on your face. I quickly smear some moisturizer right after washing my face with this Himalaya product . So, I am not completely convinced with the whole moisturizing thing.

Before buying it, I did read some reviews on online and they too said it is moisturizing and appropriate for even winters and also appropriate for dry skin beauties. Whereas, I will never recommend this product to someone who has dry skin, not even in summers.

If compared with a soap, it is less drying. But, it is not at all moisturizing. On the scale of 5, I will give it 2.5 to 3.0 points when it comes to moisturizing. I guess, this product will work better for beauties with oily skin, in summers. If you are someone with dry skin, I will never recommend it to you. On the other hand, people with normal may work it out, at least in boiling summers.

If we talk about any long term goodness it has done to my face then let me tell you, I have been using it for a month now, and I do not see any noticeable goodness done to my face. Overall, it is an average product and more appropriate for people with oily skin. Normal skinned people may use it in summers, though not at all appropriate for winters for them also.

*Please note, there are many reviews on first page of the google, saying it is appropriate for winters, whereas, I am not convinced at all with such reviews. This could be a case of different people with different experiences. So, I can’t comment on that. But, one thing that I can say is, if you are looking for a face wash that is moisturizing and do not cause any dryness or stretched skin, then this is not the product for you.

Though the whole review sound little negative, I would still say that the Himalaya Moisturizing Aloe Vera Face wash is not a bad product but , it did not do what it says.

Will I recommend this ?

For oily skinned people:

Yes, you may go ahead with this product. But, do not forget to apply light moisturizer after you use it.

For Normal Skinned people:

You may like it in summers. But, do not forget to moisturize.

For dry skinned people:

Not a product for you. It is not moisturizing enough for a dry skinned person, not even in summers.

Overall Rating:

2.5-3 (average)
