“This cream provides all-day long moisturization and provides soft and smooth skin instantly. Its special moisture binding system locks in moisture to help leave your skin youthful looking“- Let’s find how much truth above line form Olay holds.
Previously as Oil Of Olay or Oil of Oluz, Olay originated in South Africa and presently one of the Procter & Gamble (P&G) brands., Olay is an American skin care line with a tagline “Ageless”. The brand is known for its anti-ageing products. And a test done in 2006 , Olay outperformed some of the other expensive brands in the same niche. Olay has its markets all over the world and is market leader in US, UK, China and many other countries.

The other day I was looking for a good moisturising cream that could actually provide me some good moisturization in these harsh winter, when my skin is already dry as hell. So, while surfing though various products online, I came across this cream- I was already aware of this product, not a new discovery at all. Obviously, Olay is a popular brand. So, I read few reviews online and decided to give it a try.
Let me talk about this moisturizing cream in a pattern that follows something like this-about packaging, how the product smells and looks and finally, how well it performed for me followed by some ratings.
First about the packaging: The product comes into a small, white colored, partially transparent tub and the product inside it is baby pink colored, giving the super pinky or no color at all in pictures-depends on the lighting used while taking pictures. “I am wondering if color of a product is really a concern” Tell me in comments if color of a product like moisturizing cream is important to you.
Ok moving on…
I tried a 50gm tub and it is sufficient for me in these winters because I keep juggling between my creams. Otherwise also, it is enough to last for 2 months or may be 3 months-depends on frequency of usage.
Some people may complain about the packaging- considering it comes in a tub, you must put your hands directly to grab the product and is unhygienic that way. But, that is ok to me. Not all the things come in tubes or spray bottles, right? If you are still concerned about whole “hygiene” thing then use clean hands to take out the product but, if that sounds lot of work to you then switch to other product, may be.
Moving on to smell, the cream has a very mild scent- not a best smelling cream though. It smells like a baby product to me. I don’t think this will bother sensitive noses. The cream is moderately thick and feels good once you apply on your face and neck. The brand says it absorbs quickly and increases skin firmness right from the first application and yeah, it is kind of true. It does get absorbed in your skin in a jiffy and leave your skin feel smooth instantly.
Talking about how moisturizing it is, then it is good. It does moisturize your face properly and make your skin plump and hydrated right away. All you must do is take small amount of this cream, apply it on your face with small circular motions and onto the neck in upward direction. Never you should apply creams or lotions on your neck in a downward direction as it could make your skin loose- A free tip! The best thing about the cream is, it does not feel greasy and is moisturizing at the same time.
The product also claims that it helps reducing fine lines with regular usage. After doing little research and using it myself for few days, I feel that it does not do a long term good to your skin but a temporary solution for dry skin, I guess. About the reduction of fine lines, it does some improvements that are not visible to naked eyes-I read it on wiki or something because I was kind of curious about whole “fine lines reduction” thing that the brand claims. According to me, the best way to stay ageless is to take precaution and protect your skin while eating right. My recommendation is applying SPF before exposing yourself to UV rays coming from sun- Free tip again! Overall, the cream is a cosmetic effect and a good daily moisturizing cream for both face and neck.
Does it have SPF: Nope. I wish it had, considering how good this cream is and I keep coming back to it anyway.
Where to buy: You may get your hands-on Olay moisturizing cream either on some online stores like Amazon, Nykaa or supermarkets near you.
Is it appropriate in summers: Beauties with super dry skin and the ones who lives under air conditioned room conditions will no doubt love it. While for others having normal, oily or combination skin type might not want to use it during hot summers.
Will I suggest it: Yeah. If you are looking for a cream that could moisturize your face while keeping the greasy effect away, then go for it. Though, there more better option available but in this price range, it is good.
